Burslem supplies a range of headstone accessories and additional items, including lettering, photo plaques, flower vases, chippings and metalwork.
An addition may form part of a new memorial design or be considered for an existing memorial. Its size, material, position and fixing method all need to suit the stone and the setting.
Rolled lettering provides a raised metal finish and may be suitable for particular stones and inscription styles. The method should be considered alongside the existing lettering, the condition of the memorial, and any future engraving and lettering requirements.
Memorial photo plaques allow a chosen image to be incorporated into a suitable headstone or tablet. The available space, photograph quality, plaque size and position should all be considered before the layout is agreed.
The location of the memorial affects what type of stone and finish will work best.
Granite, slate, limestone and sandstone all behave differently outdoors. Some remain sharper in appearance, while others weather more softly.
Our BRAMM accreditation gives added reassurance that the memorial is made and fitted with proper care.
Memorial flower vases may be made to match or sit in keeping with the main memorial. The shape, material and position will depend on the design and available space. Replacement inserts and memorial vase holders are also available where suitable.
Grave chippings may be used within an approved kerbed memorial or other defined setting. Options can include granite, marble, slate or glass in a choice of colours. Suitability will depend on the grave design and the regulations of the cemetery.
Bronze memorial plaques and metal memorial plaques can be used for inscriptions, emblems and other commemorative plaque details. Their size, wording, finish and fixing method are determined by the intended position and any relevant requirements.
Bronze memorial lanterns may be considered where a defined position for a remembrance light is wanted and the burial-ground regulations permit one. The lantern’s scale and fixing should be planned as part of the wider memorial design.
The accessory should sit naturally with the memorial rather than appear separate from it.
